OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star Oti Mabuse insists the next series of the show will be her last.
The 30-year-old dancer joined the Latin and ballroom programme in 2015 and she is the only professional to win back-to-back series, in 2019 and 2020, but she looks set to bow out of the show.
She said: “I love to dance and love bringing joy to so many people, but I think (this year’s ‘Strictly’) will be the last.”
Oti remains hugely fond of the BBC show and has predicted that the upcoming series will include a same-sex male couple.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “To be part of a show which is so diverse is incredible. It always pushes to open new doors.
“We had JJ Chalmers and Will Bayley … it’s become a normal thing. I’m sure they will have a male same-sex couple this year.”
Oti is to become a judge on the new ITV show ‘The Masked Dancer’, and she can’t wait to see what the contestants have to offer.
She said: “I’m excited to see who the faces are and the level of dancing.”
The pro dancer previously admitted she was thrilled to join the new show, which is a spin-off of ‘The Masked Singer’.
The ‘Strictly’ star explained: “I’m so thrilled and honoured to be joining the panel on ‘The Masked Dancer’. I’m a huge fan of ‘The Masked Singer’ and I loved the US ‘Masked Dancer’ so I just can’t wait to start on this show.
“As a dancer I will be watching the dancers intently looking for clues – it’s going to be so much fun!”
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s head of entertainment commissioning, also can’t wait for the show to air.
She previously said: “‘The Masked Singer’ is a huge hit for ITV and our viewers can’t get enough of this colourful guessing game. ‘The Masked Dancer’ will build on that success and create a new format that will be just as much fun and entertaining for our viewers.”
