OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Davies is “over the moon” to be joining the cast of CBBC’s ‘Almost Never’.
The former ‘Love Island’ star had a successful run on London’s West End, starring in Dolly Parton’s musical ‘9 to 5’ two years ago.
And hot off the heels of landing her new gig on the West End in ‘Bring It On’,  Amber has confirmed she’s set to appear alongside Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and JLS star Aston Merrygold in the upcoming third season of the comedy show.
‘Almost Never’ follows “the ups and downs of boy band The Wonderland as they try to make it, while juggling friends, family, school and relationships.”
On her debut TV acting job, Amber gushed on Instagram: “I am over the moon to be joining the cast of @almostnevershow for their THIRD SEASON!
“Feel so incredibly lucky to be doing my first TV Role with such a kind and wonderful cast & company! (sic)”
Her co-star Kimberly was among those to congratulate Amber.
She commented on the post: “Yaaaaaaaay!!!!! So happy to have you on board and what a fab day working together!!!! Loads of love!! (sic)”
While an insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Amber is really keen to get into the world of acting on telly, and this is a great first step for her.
“She couldn’t wait to get started after agreeing to take part.”
Meanwhile, Amber previously admitted she “feared” having sex on ‘Love Island’ would have a “negative impact” on her career outside of the villa.
The budding actress felt “relieved” to have secured her role in ‘9 to 5’ after she worried that her stint on the ITV2 reality show in 2017 could cause problems for her career, especially after she bedded then-boyfriend Kem Cetinay on screen.
She said in 2019: “I had a lot to prove and, yes, I feared having sex on TV could have a negative impact on my acting career. My aim has been for people to stop thinking of me as Amber from ‘Love Island’.
“I was only 20 and I’ve realised now I had a lot of growing up to do – and I have done. People ask me if I just did ‘Love Island’ as a fast track to the top. That wasn’t the case. I went for it on a whim. But I’ve put the hours in since and worked so hard to change people’s perception. So it’s a relief it has paid off.”
The brunette beauty – who won ‘Love Island’ with Kem, but split from him at the end of 2017 – received rave reviews for her performance and teased more TV appearances and shows were on the horizon.
She added: “The ‘9 To 5’ reviews have been amazing and the reaction from everyone has been that they’ve been pleasantly surprised. I can’t believe really senior people in the business have now been approaching me.”
