OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Tott’s taste and smell have returned to “normal” 10 months after she had coronavirus.
The ‘First Dates’ waitress – who is now an NHS paramedic – lost the two senses completely for 17 weeks and she feared they wouldn’t return “fully”, but she has recently been able to eat steak and eggs again.
In a post on her Instagram Stories, she wrote: “So it’s been 10 months since I had Covid and for the first time I’ve started slowly getting my taste and smell back to normal …
“Lost it for 17 weeks in total. Then it came back but everything tasted and smelt so weird. Genuinely thought it was never coming back fully and just started getting on with it.
“But the last few weeks I’ve been able to eat steak and also eggs for once. Which I missed so much. (sic)”
Following the good news, the 26-year-old star – who was dropped from the new ‘First Dates’ series – has given hope to those experiencing the same loss of senses.
She added: “So for any of you going through the same and thinking it’ll never come back as it was before, hopefully yours starts coming back too.”
Last month, Laura revealed she wouldn’t be appearing in the latest ‘First Dates’ series because the show had opted to “fresh up the team” ahead of relocating to Manchester.
She wrote on Instagram: “First dates have decided to freshen up the team a little ahead of moving to the new restaurant in Manchester, so there will be a few new waiters/waitresses in this series. Unfortunately I won’t be appearing in this new series but hoping to be back real soon. Can’t wait to watch (sic)”
Several people have been experiencing long COVID, which has seen people suffer from coronavirus symptoms for months after testing positive for the virus.
