OHMYGOSSIP — Ryan-Mark Parsons has hit out at homophobia in the TV industry.
The 20-year-old star – who appeared on ‘The Apprentice’ in 2019 – has insisted he won’t be defined by his sexuality and has slammed TV executives for trying to dilute his real-life personality.
He said: “I’ve had enough of TV bosses asking to tone down what they call ‘gayness’. I will always be unapologetically Ryan-Mark.
“I will never change. I’m not defined by my sexuality. This kind of homophobia should never be tolerated.
“Can’t handle the flamboyance? Sit your a*** down and shut up.”
By contrast, Ryan-Mark has heaped praise on Dr Alex George, saying the physician has been a hero amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The outspoken star also thinks that Dr Alex – who found fame on ‘Love Island’ – is the best thing to have emerged from the ITV show.
Ryan-Mark – who is set to star in ‘Eating with my Ex’ on BBC Three – explained: “Dr Alex is our knight in shining armour.
“The best thing to ever come out of the ‘Love Island’ cesspit. The rest of them are taking meaningless beach snaps and doing whitening kit brand deals … Do something more impactful with your life!
“Take inspiration from Alex, get off your plastic backside, and achieve something … Come on!”
Dr Alex was recently made an Ambassador for Mental Health by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
And the TV star is eager to help make mental health a “priority” in the UK.
He wrote on Twitter: “The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has appointed me as the Ambassador for Mental Health. I will be working with the Government to make mental health a priority, for both current and future generations. Now more than ever we realise how fundamental this is. It’s time for change [heart emoji] (sic)”
