OHMYGOSSIP — ITV hopes to make Giovanna Fletcher a big TV star.
The 35-year-old author – who recently appeared on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ – is being eyed by the broadcaster to potentially host a number of new TV shows.
A source said: “Giovanna’s popularity went through the roof on ‘Celebrity’ and after being crowned the winner ITV hopes to champion her.
“Bosses had a meeting where ten jobs were mooted, all of which would be perfect for her.”
ITV reportedly sees parallels between Giovanna and former ‘Big Brother’ host Davina McCall.
And now, the broadcaster is determined to woo the author with a money-spinning offer.
The insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “They see Giovanna as the next Davina McCall – she’s a great all-rounder and could work on anything from panel shows to kids’ TV.
“She could earn up to £4 million over the next few years if she took up all their offers.
“But she’s not rushing into anything.
“Everyone wants a piece of her and there have been meetings with a number of big channels and production companies. Naturally ITV would love to have her as a long-term member of their TV family.”
Meanwhile, Giovanna previously admitted she wanted to win ‘I’m a Celebrity’ to bring herself closer to her dream of becoming an actress.
Speaking before entering the castle, she explained: “I started as an actress and I was bored of the phone not ringing so I started writing.”
Despite her success, Giovanna still has ambitions of becoming an actress.
She said: “I kind of feel like acting is still something I’ll do, but the books, and everything, it’s all storytelling.
“Even the social media, the podcast, it’s storytelling … and I think maybe working in a florist, I think I’d like to have a florist.”
