OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen wants to resurrect ‘The Big Breakfast’.
The 46-year-old star hosted the Channel 4 show alongside Johnny Vaughan earlier in her career, and she’s already spoken to Chis Evans – another of the programme’s former presenters – about reviving ‘The Big Breakfast’, after the broadcaster announced the return of classic shows as part of Black Takeover Day.
The special event will see black stars front iconic Channel 4 programmes – and the concept has sparked Denise’s ambition.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “None of the originals have been asked to go back. I saw Chris Evans the other day and we were having a chat about how cool it would be.”
Denise is also open to making another sitcom, having starred in ‘Babes in the Wood’ in the late 90s.
She said: “I had such a laugh doing ‘Babes In The Wood’. I’d love to do another sitcom.”
Meanwhile, Denise previously admitted that her friendship with Johnny Vaughan fell apart when they renegotiated their ‘Big Breakfast’ contracts.
The duo formed a successful partnership on the Channel 4 show, but their relationship collapsed amid a dispute over money.
She shared: “I had a big fallout with Johnny Vaughan when we worked on ‘The Big Breakfast’. The whole relationship fell apart when we renegotiated our contracts.
“I thought we were a team, we were the show together. There were other things involved, agents and stuff.
“Johnny was negotiating separately and I found out. For me it was tarnished. I knew our relationship would never be the same. That’s why I left the show.”
