OHMYGOSSIP — Jacqueline Jossa will return to ‘EastEnders’ when her character is “missed”.
The Lauren Branning actress has admitted she would be up for an Albert Square comeback at some point, but she wants her alter-ego to be missed by the soap’s super fans.
Speaking on ‘Celebrity Juice’, she said: “When the time’s right yes, the character needs to be missed before you can come back.”
Just this week, Lauren’s picture appeared on screen as Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) was looking at photos of her on his mobile phone.
It’s not the first time Jacqueline has admitted she is open to walking back into Walford as Lauren.
Earlier this month, the 28-year-old star said the time would have to be right for both her and her husband Dan Osborne if she ever returned to the BBC One soap.
She said: “The door has always been left open and I would go back at the right time – it would have to be the right time for both of us [her and Dan].”
But in the meantime, Jacqueline is keen to try her hand at other roles, such as a period drama, or she would love to portray a firefighter one day.
She said: “I’d like to do something slightly different. Maybe a comedy or a period drama, or being a firefighter or a policewoman. I’m up for anything.”
The ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ winner hobbled away from the BBC One soap in February 2018 after Lauren – who she had played from 2010 – fell off the roof of the Queen Vic pub, but somehow survived.
When asked in December 2019 if she would “never say never” about heading back to the show, she said: “Maybe one day, I would never, ever say never.
“I got thrown off a building, and I hobbled off with a walking stick.
“She’s somewhere, I think she might be in New Zealand.
“I loved it there [on ‘EastEnders’], it was amazing.”
