OHMYGOSSIP — Rhiannon Clements has warned that her ‘Hollyoaks’ character Summer has a “nasty bite”.
The 25-year-old actress is joining the Channel 4 soap as Cormac Ranger’s daughter Summer and she has teased there are “lots of surprises” to come for her and her character.
She said: “Summer’s a great character and I’m excited to explore her more. She’s fun, sarcastic and I love the zest she brings, but also love that she’s a really complex, multi-faceted character which is going to be brilliant to play. Fans can expect lots of surprises and fun with Summer, but not everything is always as it seems. She’s all sweetness and light but she also has a nasty bite. It definitely wont be quiet or easy when Summer’s around, but there’ll be lots of excitement, twists and entertainment along the way.”
And Rhiannon has promised her character will create “some quite difficult situations” for others.
She teased: “She has a secret that will ruffle the feathers of some of the characters, and as time goes on, will lead to some quite difficult situations. Once Summer sets her mind on something, be it an idea, a plan or a person, she will do everything she can to make things go her way, which will cause some problems for certain characters, dynamics and some big stories. She isn’t always what she seems.”
Rhiannon has praised the crew and cast for taking her “under their wing”.
She told Digital Spy: “Everyone has taken me under their wing. Crew and cast and everyone I’ve met so far are super welcoming and were there to talk to if I had any questions or worries on set, or on the lead-up to my first scenes. I felt really involved in the process of introducing Summer to Hollyoaks and prepared to start filming and it’s been great! It’s been so much fun so far so I’m mad excited to see what the next year holds.”
