OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood thinks the nation “needs” ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ right now.
The 55-year-old dancer is thrilled to be back on the BBC One latin and ballroom show and feels it is just what the whole country needs after a tough few months amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones on BBC One’s new show ‘Morning Live’, he said: “I’m lucky, I have been starved of entertainment the last eight months, I really have. The dancing was really good; I was really surprised. Especially for week one. It’s still a lovely atmosphere but of course we miss our audiences. It’s difficult because I always play off the atmosphere in the room … But I think they’ve done really well … I think the nation really needs it at this point in time, just having familiarity and also something to look forward to. I’ve got a front row seat in one of the best shows ever.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returned to screens over the weekend, where Hrvy topped the leaderboard.
The 21-year-old star and his professional partner Janette Manrara wowed the judges with their eye-catching jive routine, receiving a table-topping score of 25 out of a possible 30.
Motsi Mabuse was particularly impressed by Hrvy’s performance, describing it as the best first dance she’s “ever seen”.
She added: “Awesome. A great ending to a great show.”
‘EastEnders’ actress Maisie Smith – another of the pre-show favourites – also impressed the ‘Strictly’ judges with her first dance.
The 19-year-old star was handed a score of 24 out of 30 for her performance alongside partner Gorka Marquez.
