Jay-Z’s ambitious plans to expand Roc Nation

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay Z is planning to expand his management company Roc Nation by signing movie and sports stars to the label.

Jay-Z is keen to expand his business empire. The 43-year-old rapper – who owns the Roc Nation management firm which already has a number of stars on its books including Shakira, Rita Ora and Rihanna – is believed to be keen to sign up actors and models to his rapidly expanding label.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Jay-Z is looking to build a global management company.

“He already manages artists at Roc Nation. But the plan is to start departments for actors, for TV personalities, models and designers, so they cover the whole entertainment industry.”

The ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker has already sold his share in the Brooklyn Nets basketball team so he can get a sports licence to set up sports agency, Roc Nation Sports.

It has already signed a top baseball player with the New York Yankees called Robinson Cano as its first client.

Under strict rules set by the National Basketball Association agents can’t represent professional athletes and have a stake in a team.

In a statement the star said: “The Nets have made their mark on the NBA and as they enter a new era, Roc Nation does as well; as we embark on Roc Nation Sports. Our newest endeavour is committed to building the brands of professional athletes as we have done for some of today’s top music artists.”
