OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright is set to star in the second series of ‘I Am’.
The 26-year-old actress will appear alongside ‘Victoria’ star CJ Beckford and The Capture’s Sophia Brown in the episode ‘I Am Danielle’ in the Channel 4 anthology series, which has been co-written by the leading actress alongside writer and director Dominic Savage.
Letitia said: “Collaborating with Dominic Savage has been an amazing experience. His unique and sensitive style of directing has stretched me as an artist.
“I’m so proud that we came together on a story that we both felt was important to explore and share with the world.”
The series debuted last year with three episodes titled ‘I Am Nicola’, ‘I Am Kirsty’ and ‘I Am Hannah’, which were led by Vicky McClure, Samantha Morton and Gemma Chan respectively.
Letitia’s episode – as well as two others – have already started production with Suranne Jones and Ashley Waters starring in ‘I Am Victoria’.
Director Dominic added: “Making this film with Letitia was so exciting, invigorating, and full of creative joy. It is exactly how I love to work. In complete partnership and understanding.
“We were so in tune with the story we were telling, and each day was purely instinctive, challenging, and always truthful. I’m proud to be able to bring this story of love with all its difficulties to the screen.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Black Panther’ star recently shared a poem she wrote to her on-screen brother, Chadwick Boseman following his death from cancer.
Posting the poem to Instagram, she explains how they first met: “I’ll never forget the day that I met you. Before I got on the plane to LA for my first meeting with you, God told me that you were my brother and that I am to love you as such. And I always did, and I always will.
“But now my heart is broken. Searching for old messages of exchange, cards filled with your handwriting and memories of you holding my hand, as if it was for eternity. I thought we had more time and many more years to come.”
