OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Lucas will appear on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ this weekend.
The ‘Great British Bake Off’ host – who joined the Channel 4 show this year alongside co-presenter Noel Fielding – will be appearing on the ITV talent show on Saturday (10.10.20) as part of an epic group performance.
The 46-year-old star – whose former ‘Little Britain’ co-star David Walliams is a judge on the series – will join a 60-strong ensemble cast performing classic hits from West End shows ‘Les Miserables’, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Mary Poppins’.
The routine is directed by theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh, and given Matt’s experience on the stage it’s fitting he’ll be involved.
Director Cameron said: “Britain’s theatrical talent is the best in the world so it is a wonderful opportunity after seven months of enforced lockdown to be invited by ‘Britain’s Got’ Talent to showcase three of my greatest British musical hits with their fabulous West End casts all bursting to perform again.”
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Matt made himself sick on his first day of filming ‘Bake Off’ as he got carried away with the excitement and ate 12 contestants’ dishes during his first day on set.
A source said: “Matt was naturally very excited about his new role and really threw himself into the ‘Bake Off’ experience.
“When he saw all the treats on offer he took the opportunity to do what he couldn’t as a viewer – taste them.
“But there’s a reason Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith only take small mouthfuls when they’re judging and why co-host Noel Fielding only samples the bakes every now and again.
“He certainly felt the effects of overindulging. But it was worth him learning this valuable lesson early.”
