OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour’ has been delayed until 2022.
The annual live showcase usually takes place in January following the series finale, with a selection of celebrities and their dance partners performing across the UK in front of live audiences, but this year’s contestants – who include the likes of Maisie Smith and Jamie Laing – will have to wait an extra year to go on the road, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the MailOnline, the tour will kick off in Birmingham on January 22, 2022, and travel to arenas in Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Nottingham and London, with tickets set to go on sale at 10am on Friday October 16th.
What’s more, ‘Strictly’ fans will be able to enjoy a dose of glitz and glamour as the professional dancers are due to start touring in May.
The show will feature Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Johannes Radebe, and show newcomer Kai Widdrington.
Amy Dowden, Dianne and Neil are also set to star in ‘Strictly Presents: The Power of Dance’ along with two surprise guest stars which will open in June.
Jamie was forced to leave the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition last year after he injured his foot, and now he’s worried he could be cursed if he has to pull out again.
He said: “If I get injured again it would look like I bottled it! So I really have to be careful. I’m not worried, I feel like I’m pretty fit and healthy. If something happens then the ‘Strictly’ curse isn’t about me sleeping with someone else, it’s definitely about my foot!”
But this year, Jamie is determined to take home the Glitterball Trophy to make his mum proud.
He added: “For me it’s one of the shows that we all grew up with. Honestly, it makes my mum proud that I’m doing it and I’ve never made her proud before so that is literally one of the big reasons!
“I came out of it last year and obviously like most people I hate failing at stuff and it definitely felt like I failed last year so this is the time to really go for it.”
