OHMYGOSSIP — Craig Revel Horwood has postponed his wedding.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge got engaged to fiance Jonathan Myring in March, but he has decided to put their nuptials on hold as the couple want to have a big wedding with all their friends and family.
Speaking in Sebastian Shakespeare’s Daily Mail newspaper column, he said: “I want it to be big and fun, not a Covid wedding with five people there. It’ll take a couple of years to plan but we’re not in a rush.”
The pair met on dating app Tinder in 2018 before Jonathan, 35, popped the question over champagne and a bubble bath while the pair were holidaying in Tasmania.
The horticulturist explained: “I had this whole day planned. We were going to have a picnic by the river and look for platypus. I was going to wait for one to come along and then propose. But, on the day, Craig said he didn’t want to do it as platypus are very elusive, so it would be a waste of time.
“By this point, I was getting really nervous and just wanted it done. In the end, I drew a salt bath, opened a bottle of champagne and we got in the bath together and I did it in there.”
And Craig, 55, would love to return to the Australian state for their honeymoon.
He said: “Then I’d love to jet off to the Maldives, then perhaps return to Tasmania [where his husband-to-be proposed] on our honeymoon.”
What’s more, Craig – who was previously married to Jane Horwood – is also considering having children with his future husband after seeing Sir Elton John adopt two children with his husband David Furnish.
He said: “I’m not ruling out kids, but I’m 55 and I’ll be 56 in January. I’m getting a bit long in the tooth. Having said that, Elton John managed it, so why not? Never say never.”
