OHMYGOSSIP — Kevin Bacon will hit TV screens tonight (30.05.19) to mark the launch of EE’s 5G service.
The 60-year-old actor will feature in a new 60-second TV advert, during the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ live semi-final, in the latest EE brand campaign, which was shot on the day of the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Watford on May 18th.
Kevin will be seen alongside fans of the two teams in the ad, which is made up of three individual storylines following the experiences of both sets of supporters.
They enjoyed the game on 5G-enabled smartphones via live 5G experiences, including an augmented reality tunnel into Wembley Way.
EE found new ways for the football fans to enjoy the beautiful game, capturing the magic on the day of the FA Cup Final using 5G and its cutting-edge technology.
Kevin features in the ad when he appears among a pub full of football supporters and asks a Watford fan to take a picture of him before the game begins.
The advert then heads to Manchester where lifelong Man City supporter Graham Phillips is getting ready to watch the game from the comfort of his home.
Elsewhere, a Watford fan and his pal are holding up a 5G smartphone on a balcony when the image on the screen is replaced with scenes from the Wembley turf, after they point the device in the direction of a community pitch below them.
Kevin’s upcoming small screen appearance comes after upcoming Glastonbury headliner Stormzy wowed fans with a pulsating performance in a secret gig on the River Thames on Wednesday night (29.05.19) to mark the launch of the UK’s first 5G service.
Spitting lyrics in front of the iconic Tower Bridge, Stormzy performed his latest track ‘Vossi Bop’ from a lit-up EE platform on the river.
The 25-year-old rapper admitted he was “honoured to be part of history” as he played the show and encouraged onlookers, who he referred to as his “epic energy crew”, to enjoy the moment.
