Vinnie Caruana (born September 25, 1979) is an American singer. He was the vocalist for Long Island punk band The Movielife from their inception in 1997 until their break-up in 2003. He is now the lead singer and songwriter for the indie/post hardcore band I Am the Avalanche, a Brooklyn-based indie rock band whose first album was produced by Barett Jones (Foo Fighters, The Melvins). Caruana routinely performs in New York City in a solo role.

Vinnie appears on the Bayside song “The Walking Wounded” off the album of the same name, and on the Set Your Goals song “This Will Be the Death of Us” also off the album of the same name.

I Am the Avalanche are a part of Cardboard City, a New York-based group of bands and artists led by Vin’s best friend Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw, Head Automatica, House of Blow) and DJ Krazyglue.

Vin has many tattoos, including “IATA” on his wrist and The Movielife’s bumblebee logo on his arm.
