Kevin Costner not afraid of failure
Kevin Costner isn’t afraid of failure. The 55-year-old actor has starred in several flop movies, including Waterworld and The Postman but insists he doesn’t care about their poor performance as he hasn’t enjoyed success.
“I’m not afraid to fail and I’m not overly impressed with success,” he said.
“I’ve learned that failure doesn’t kill you.”
Kevin believes he isn’t always a popular box office choice for studios anymore because of economic restraints, though he also admits he won’t take on work that he doesn’t have full control over.
“I haven’t worked for a really long time because I tend to make movies that aren’t sequels, so I’m not exactly in vogue,” he said.
“I can make a movie for $6 million, but most of the time it’s going to be around $30 million or $40 million and Hollywood is very leery of movies that cost between $10 million and $150 million dollars.
“I won’t make a movie unless I have the ability to do it the way I want, so I hold my breath for a long time. At this point in my life, I don’t want to make a movie I don’t want to make or one that gets manipulated in a way I don’t feel comfortable with.”
