OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Thomas has joined the cast of ‘Pitching In’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actor, who recently admitted he will never “turn [his] back on acting” after he became a property executive, has landed a role in the BBC drama alongside former ‘EastEnders’ star Larry Lamb (Archie Mitchell), his first part since starring as Adam Barton in the ITV soap for nine years.
A post on Creative Artists Management (CAM) Twitter account read: “We can’t wait for the new @BBC family drama #PitchingIn! Congratulations to @adamthomas21 who will be on our screens next Spring to show us what a family will do to make the best of a very unusual situation! @bexelliff (sic)”
‘Pitching In’ will see Larry reunite with his ‘Gavin and Stacey’ co-star Melanie Walters for the Wales-based family drama which will be set around a caravan park on the north Welsh coast.
The series will tell the story of three generations of the same family who will try to make the best out of a tough situation.
Larry said: “Eleven years after ‘Gavin and Stacey’ burst onto the scene I’m heading out west again, switching Barry Island for Anglesey this time!
“I’m delighted to be playing the role of Frank in ‘Pitching In’ – it’s a touching, funny and romantic story and a fascinating glimpse of life on the north Wales coast.”
It’s not yet known which character Adam will portray, but his casting comes after he recently insisted he has not quit acting after landing his property exec job.
He wrote on Instagram: “yes I am working in the property industry in between jobs because as a jobbing actor you can be out of work… that’s just the nature of the business…I haven’t nor will I ever turn my back on acting …but I have a family to support and will carry on doing so…whether it be acting or otherwise .
