OHMYGOSSIP — Keeley Hawes couldn’t bear thinking about the “what if” when her son was caught up in a terror attack last year.
The ‘Bodyguard’ star received a worrying message from her 18-year-old boy Myles – who she shares with first husband Spencer McCallum – in September last year on the day a ‘bucket bomb’ filled with nails failed to detonate properly on a train at Parsons Green station in West London.
She told the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine: “I got a text from him written in capitals, so I knew immediately something was wrong. They were in a tunnel and the lights were going on and off. The ‘what if’ doesn’t bear thinking about.”
Keeley’s latest role has seen her portray fictional home secretary Julia Montague in BBC One drama ‘Bodyguard’ – in which Richard Madden plays her personal protection officer David Budd – but fans were left in uproar after her alter-ego was killed off halfway through the series.
But some have speculated Julia may not have met her maker, and writer and creator Jed Mercurio admitted he has included some “red herrings” in the series.
He said: “I have put in some red herrings, you have to be able to have a number of possible answers in play and that is all about what you let the audience in on and what you keep from them.”
What’s more, show bosses are already thinking about the potential of a second run of the show.
He added: “I have got some ideas for a second series, but it is worth waiting until the run is finished to see which bits worked and which bits didn’t work for the audience.
“We clearly need to be offering the audience another ‘Bodyguard’ experience if we are lucky enough to get a second series, those conversations are for the future.”
