Elin Nordegren is planning to set up a mental health clinic
According to a report in the Sunday Times of London, the former Swedish model recently finalized her divorce from billionaire golfer Tiger Woods and is planning to use some of her $65 million settlement to set up a clinic providing mental-health counseling to underprivileged families in Florida.
“Elin has a lot of ideas, including setting up her own clinic to help poorer children suffering from mental illnesses such as depression, eating disorders and hypertension, which can result from living in a broken family,” a source said.
“Maybe it’s not surprising, but she feels strongly that children are the real victims when marriages fail.”
Nordegren recently insisted she’s feeling “stronger” than ever now she’s a single lady.
“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children,” she said.
“I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.
“My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”
