Phillip Schofield reaches out to Holly Willoughby following terrifying kidnap threat

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield has reached out to offer support to Holly Willoughby after she was the target of a kidnapping plot.
The former ‘This Morning’ co-hosts are not believed to have spoken since the 61-year-old presenter was axed from the daytime show in May following the revelation he had had an “unwise, but not illegal” affair with a much younger male colleague, but he called the blonde beauty after a man appeared in court in Essex this week over a plot to kidnap and murder her.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Phil was absolutely horrified to hear she had been allegedly targeted in such a sickening way and decided to reach out to her, in spite of their lack of contact. He wanted her to know he was thinking of her and her family. They’ve so much history, and this is something you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.”
Holly, 42, welcomed the call from her old friend and mutual pals hope they can now repair their rift.
An insider said: “Holly and Phil’s friendship was so close before the events of this year. Phil’s decision to reach out, and the welcome it has been received with by Holly, shows that there is still a bond there.
“The hope is they can regain some of the ground lost, and support each other again.”
Gavin Plumb, from Harlow, Essex, has been charged with soliciting a man named David Nelson to commit murder, and incitement to commit kidnap between October 2nd and 5th.
He is accused of planning to assemble a “kidnap and restraint kit” and inviting the other man to travel to the UK to carry out the alleged offences.
After the shocking plot was uncovered, Holly pulled out of hosting the show on Thursday (05.10.23) and she has been given police protection at her house.
The ‘Dancing On Ice’ host is now expect to take at least three weeks off ‘This Morning’.
