OHMYGOSSIP — Vick Hope has joined ‘Countdown’.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ – who holds a degree from Cambridge University – will be leading Dictionary Corner on the iconic Channel 4 daytime game show this week.
The 33-year-old presenter wrote on Instagram: “Aaaahhhh VICKTIONARY CORNER!!! So so SO excited to be joining the wonderful ‘Countdown’ team on @channel4 every afternoon this week at 2 in Dictionary Corner! (sic)”
Vick shared a series of on-set snaps that featured both Dictionary Corner regular and lexicographer Susie Dent and the programme’s resident maths whizz Rachel Riley while gushing about how happy she was having “the loveliest of times with the loveliest bunch”.
She added: “MAN I LOVE WORDS SO MUCH! Thank you for having me, daada daada dadadada BUMMM (sic)”
In August, it was revealed ‘Coronation Street’ star Daniel Brocklebank had made a guest appearance on ‘Countdown’ on the show’s Dictionary Corner.
Taking to Twitter, Daniel teased his appearance on the show, by posting a snap of himself in the studio alongside a picture of his name card.
It read: “So today… and I’m very excited to announce this… starts my guest appearances on @C4Countdown sat in dictionary corner with the rather fabulous @susie_dent (sic)”
It came after Daniel’s former fellow ‘Corrie’ co-star Les Dennis was confirmed as Anne Robinson’s temporary replacement, after Anne, 77 stepped down as the show’s host after just one year in the hot seat.
Les announced the news on Twitter in July, writing: “From 4th August until 15th I shall be hosting the iconic @C4Countdown. It is such an honour. Hope you enjoy. (sic)”
Former ‘Family Fortunes’ host Les was meant to be over in Dictionary Corner, but he stepped in as temporary host instead after presenter Colin Murray – who made his debut as the stand-in presenter earlier in July – was struck down with coronavirus.
