OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen has landed a role as a sexy nurse in an upcoming action comedy, alongside Ed Sheeran.
The 47-year-old actress – who split from her former fiance Eddie Boxshall in January – looks set to star in film ‘Sumotherhood’, which has been written by Adam Deacon.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Denise has made sure she’s keeping busy since the split and is totally focused on the future.
“It’s been a tough few weeks but this role is just what she needs. Denise loves dressing up and being provocative, so in many ways it is the perfect role for her.”
Filming for ‘Sumotherhood’ is already underway in East London and is expected to wrap up by end of March.
The plot for the British action comedy is being kept under wraps, but it is also expected to feature Jennifer Saunders, ‘Shaun of the Dead’ star Peter Serafinowicz and Penny Dreadful’s Danny Sapani.
Other stars included in the line-up are global superstar Ed, comedian Kevin Bishop, model Leomie Anderson and ‘Four Lives’ actress Jaime Winstone.
Denise took to social media in January to announce she and Eddie had split.
She wrote: “Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie.
“It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship.
“I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children.”
