OHMYGOSSIP — The first episode of ‘Love Island’ 2021 features toe-sucking, snogging, and a late arrival.
The new season of the ITV2 dating show returns tonight (28.06.21) and towards the end of the contestants’ first day in the villa, they face a game of dares.
First up, semi-professional footballer Toby Aromoloran, 22, opens his dare which reads: “One of you must suck the toes of the other for 30 seconds.”
Despite branding the task “the worst” possible form of intimacy, Toby has no problem getting stuck in.
Speaking in the Beach Hut after the dare, Toby said: “I think I got the worst one, but you know what? I’m up for it because it’s all a laugh.”
Elsewhere, 26-year-old labourer Brad McClelland is the first cast member to lock lips with one of the lucky ladies.
Speaking in the Beach Hut after the lengthy song, Brad said: “Decent kiss. It went on a bit too long I think.”
Beauty queen and civil servant Sharon Gaffka, 25, gets landed with sucking the earlobe of one of the other singletons.
Her dare read: “One of you must suck the other’s earlobe for 30 seconds.”
Speaking afterwards, she said: “Earlobe sucking is probably not something I do on the first day that I meet someone. Actually, I don’t do that when I first meet someone. It was just a bit weird!”
The islanders are then interrupted when Toby receives a text from Chloe Burrows, a 25-year-old marketing executive, who gets to take each of the boys out on a date.
The voice note says: “Hey boys. How are you? Chloe here. I’ve just arrived and I’m outside the front of the Villa. I’d like to take you all on a date but I’ll let you guys decide who wants to come and join me. Hopefully I’ll see you soon.”
Prior to the dares, the contestants got to know one another’s intentions.
Nando’s waitress Liberty Poole declared: “I’m ready for the hotties. Anyone else?”
The 21-year-old beauty also confessed that she was feeling “anxious”.
She told host Laura Whitmore: “I’m nervous but I’m excited to see what potential is coming through the doors.”
Party girl Kaz Kamwi also spilled who her type is.
The 26-year-old fashion blogger said: “I just like muscles and biceps, nice backs and nice bodies!”
However, 26-year-old lettings manager Faye Winter is looking for a man with more than a hot body.
She said: “We need the personality; if he’s not bringing the personality, I don’t want him!”
While Sharon chimed in that she can’t stand men in “White jeans and an ego.”
Before the girls meet the boys, Laura says: “I think it’s about time we meet some boys. What do you think? One by one the guys are going to come in, you’re going to decide if you like them or not. If you fancy them, you step forward and once you step forward or not, each boy will then decide who they want to couple up with. So, who is ready to meet our first boy?”
After the five matches are made, Laura adds: “Will you stay together? Or will your heads be turned?”
The host then warned the ladies that they might have to “graft a little harder” to hold onto their partners this series.
She teased: “Girls, just a little bit of advice from me, if you want to keep hold of your man you may have to graft a little bit harder, that’s all I’m saying.”
‘Love Island’ airs tonight from 9pm on ITV2 and the ITV Hub.
