OHMYGOSSIP — Joe-Warren Plant spent two months in bed sleeping after being left “physically and mentally exhausted” from ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The Emmerdale star – who plays Jacob Gallagher in the ITV soap – has resumed filming on the show after an eight-month break, but he used some of his free time to rest after a tough training regime on the ice-skating show.
He said: “I’ve spent most of my time in bed, sleeping. I was so physically and mentally exhausted from ‘Dancing on Ice’, I needed a couple of months of just doing nothing to reset and regain myself.
“But I’m feeling refreshed now and ready to get stuck in with some intense storylines.”
Joe-Warren and his ‘Dancing on Ice’ pro partner Vanessa Bauer were forced to withdraw from the competition in February after they contracted coronavirus.
And the 19-year-old actor – who was among the favourites to win this year’s series – would love to have another crack at the programme, because he has “unfinished business” on the ice.
He added to Digital Spy: “Even though I was satisfied with what I had accomplished, I do feel like there is some unfinished business as we had a lot more to showcase.
“But at the moment I’m going to concentrate on my work at Emmerdale and we’ll see what happens in the future.”
After Joe-Warren and Vanessa were forced to pull out of ‘Dancing on Ice’, he paid tribute to her for being a “fantastic teacher”.
He said: “Having tested positive for COVID this now means the end of the competition for Vanessa and I.
“I have loved every minute of being a part of ‘Dancing On Ice’ and I am disappointed as I feel I had so much more to give and was working hard to perfect each performance.
“Thank you so much to Vanessa for being a fantastic teacher and although it’s been cut short, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
“Thank you to all the crew who have been brilliant and especially thanks to the other cast members, they have been hugely supportive and I wish them all the very best.”
