OHMYGOSSIP — Eamonn Holmes has been doing “baby exercises” to rebuild nerve endings in his leg, as he continues his recovery from three slipped discs.
The 61-year-old TV presenter was forced to use a crutch to help him walk last month, and he has now been working on his “balance and leg weakness” as part of his ongoing recuperation.
He wrote on Twitter: “Working on my balance and leg weakness. Have to build nerve ends back in my Right leg- but going well. I was doing almost baby exercises today …. in fact so easy did they look that I thought I would give you an insight and a laugh. will edit tonight and post tomorrow (sic)”
Eamonn previously admitted he was suffering from “chronic pain” due to the injury, which was giving him sleepless nights, but that has now “gone” thanks to steroid injections and he is recovering “slowly but surely”.
He tweeted: “Another session of Physio rehab – feels like I’m making progress – slowly but surely. Chronic Pain now gone because of Steroid injections – Thank God.
Got to strengthen my back now . Small steps , literally. but feeling positive. Thanks for sharing your stories (sic)”
Eamonn recently admitted it was “awful” not being able to sleep because of the pain.
He said: “It’s three slipped discs.
“I actually have to come on here with a crutch, that’s the way I am at the moment.
“I’ve got steroid injections and everything’s OK, and hopefully I’ll be on the mend.
“Chronic pain, no matter what causes it – it doesn’t discriminate between whether you’re young or old, man or woman or whatever.
“I couldn’t sleep at night, I just couldn’t sleep.
“Lying there at night, trying to get to sleep while Ruth was sound asleep beside me. Honestly, it was awful.
“I’ve got the injections, which have taken away the acute pain and I can sleep and that’s a blessing, absolutely great.
“But the physicality of not being able to walk straight.”
