OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa George has returned to ‘Coronation Street’ after months of shielding.
The Beth Sutherland actress – who has type 2 diabetes – made a cobbles comeback yesterday (25.05.21), and she has spent hours catching up on fan mail from her time away.
She wrote on Instagram: “First day back at work… filming done ans now catching up on fan Mail and scripts. Apologies to all those who have sent me letters and not had a response yet… I’m working through them… thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to write , it is much appreciated. I shall respond as soon as I can. All the best for now #fans #fanmail #backtowork #filming #corrie #iloveacting #acting #drama #soap thanks to the fabulous hair wizardess @meghangorman_hair for sorting my locks out before coming back to work xxx (sic)”
Several of her ‘Corrie’ co-stars welcomed the actress back.
Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby) posted: “Welcome back, gorgeous!”
Melanie Hill (Cathy Matthews) wrote: “Looking fabulous Lisa xxxx (sic)”
Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) commented: “Hope you like our slightly tidier dressing room? X (sic)”
In response to the positive comments, Lisa wrote: “Totally overwhelmed by all your beautiful comments. How lovely!! I never knew Beth was so popular!!! Thank you everybody (sic)”
It comes after the 48-year-old star revealed in December she was left half-blind in one eye after suffering a mini stroke four years before.
She said: “I haemorrhaged behind my optic nerve four years ago and I’m half-blind in my right eye, they said it was like a stroke but also I got hit in the eye with a bit of rope.
“They think I’d had some mini-stroke but a specialist said it has to be the rope, I still don’t know.
“I lost my peripheral.”
