OHMYGOSSIP — Verity Rushworth would love to land a role in ‘Coronation Street’.
The former ‘Emmerdale’ actress – whose character Donna Windsor was killed off in 2014 – recently turned up in ‘Doctors’, and she would love to step foot in Soapland once again in ‘Corrie’, or ‘EastEnders’.
Quizzed on whether she would be up for being a cobbles or Albert Square regular, she said: “Yes, definitely.”
The 35-year-old actress is also keen to follow in her former Dales co-star Kelvin Fletcher’s fancy footsteps by appearing in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
She said: “I’d want Aljaž [Škorjanec] to be my partner. I’m obsessed with him.
“I also went to see Kelvin perform in 2019 and was so proud.
“Who knew he had those snakey hips?”
As well as being up for strutting her stuff on the small screen more in the future, Verity would also like to turn her hand to writing and admitted she could start a blog about her time on ‘Emmerdale’ because she has “loads of anecdotes” from her 11 years as Donna.
When asked what the future has in store for her, she told OK! magazine: “I’m looking forward to the theatres reopening.
“I’d love to do more TV and maybe a little bit of writing.
“I kept a diary every day from 14, so I’ve got loads of anecdotes from ‘Emmerdale’ that I could turn into a blog. Who knows?”
Verity starred as Donna from 1998 to 2009, and she then returned for a five-month stint in 2014 which culminated in a dramatic exit when the policewoman handcuffed herself to criminal Gary North (Fergus O’Donnell) and threw them off a multi-storey car park to their deaths.
