OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Coronation Street’ star Tanisha Gorey thinks Nina Lucas is “the one” for her on-screen character.
The actress – who plays Asha Alahan in the ITV soap – has discussed her character supporting Mollie Gallagher’s alter ego after she and Seb Franklin were brutally attacked by Corey Brent and his gang.
Speaking about the dramatic storyline, she told Metro.co.uk: “When she found out about the attack, we saw she still has feelings for Nina. She is the love of her life and was hoping for so much.
“Asha was slightly obsessive in the relationship but other than that, Nina was the one for her, she wanted to be with her.
“When the attack happened, it really made her think whether she still likes Nina. Asha only got back with Corey because she wanted someone to give her attention.”
Meanwhile, Tanisha recently revealed she hopes Asha can find happiness on the cobbles.
The soap star thinks her on-screen character needs something in her life that she can “fall back on”.
She said: “I’d love to see her happy, whether it’s getting her dream job or a long-term relationship.
“I’d like her to have something that’s always there, so no matter what is happening, she always has something to fall back on…”
And Tanisha suggested her character is “just so desperate to be loved”, and pointed to what made her connection with Nina so special.
She added: “Deep down, she knows she still feels something for Nina.
“Asha really liked her because she was so unique and helped her find herself. She’d be happier with Nina, but that just isn’t a possibility.”
