OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer’s boyfriend Sammy Kimmence is “at risk” of a custodial sentence after he pleaded guilty to defrauding two pensioners of nearly £34,000.
The 25-year-old stockbroker – who welcomed son Santiago into the world with the former ‘Love Island’ star in January – appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court today (19.04.21) to plead guilty to five counts of fraud totalling £33,919 after he posed as a financial investor to scam Peter Martin – who passed away in November aged 91 – and Peter Haynes, who were 90 and 80 at the time.
According to Portsmouth newspaper The News, Recorder Nicholas Haggan QC told Kimmence: “I’m satisfied the custody threshold has been crossed and as a young man with previous good character I agree to a pre-sentence report to find out as much information about you as possible.
“You are at risk of a custodial sentence.”
Kimmence, who pleaded not guilty to the charges last week, spoke only to confirm his name and plead guilty to the charges.
Craig Harris, defending, said: “He is a relatively young man of previous good character, the offences go back into his late teenage years.
“This is a case that crosses the custodial threshold but might be within a range which I argue could be suspended.
“Quite a lot has gone into this young man’s life in the last few years. He is seeking to reimburse the losses he has caused.”
Kimmence was granted conditional bail, but cannot contact the complainant.
He will appear for sentencing on June 11th.
Dani – whose dad is ‘EastEnders’ actor Danny Dyer – was in a relationship with Kimmence before she starred on ‘Love Island’ in 2018, but the pair later rekindled their romance after she split from Jack Fincham, with whom she won the ITV2 dating show.
Kimmence and Dani welcomed their baby boy into the world on January 23rd this year.
Dani previously admitted she had “really struggled” not having her boyfriend at her pregnancy scans owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
She said: “Because this is the first time I’ve been pregnant I’ve had nothing to compare it to. I feel bad for women who have had babies before and now they’re going through it in coronavirus. It is difficult,
“I’ve been to a few scans and Sammy wasn’t allowed to be there. I really struggled because I felt like, ‘He’s the father of my child, I need him in this room with me.’ You do end up having to book private scans because I needed him there. I’m such a worrier anyway, so it was nice to have him holding my hand.”
