OHMYGOSSIP — Martin and Roman Kemp are set to return for a second season of ‘Sunday Best’.
The father-and-son duo launched their hit ITV celebrity chat show last summer, and the programme was successfully filmed with social distancing guidelines in place.
An insider told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Martin and Roman’s Sunday Best fared really well after its debut last June and both are on board to make it happen again.
“The format means it can be produced and done in a COVID-19 safe environment, which makes it even more ideal. The first series was done with social distancing and it worked really well, so there are few concerns.”
The series provides “fun, celebrity chat and live music performances” alongside “up-and-coming comedians, games and challenges” pitting the pair against each other.
The 59-year-old actor and his 27-year-old son reportedly earned £450,000 for the first series of ‘Sunday Best’ as their management went “hard on negotiations”.
An insider previously revealed: “When they signed up to present their new show, their management went hard on negotiations and they’ve walked away with a very attractive package. “There are 22 episodes pencilled in for Martin and Roman so far and for each hour-long show they will be paid £10,000 each. “The package includes their expenses as well as their base pay but it’s not bad for so little work.”
What’s more, Roman was delighted to be working alongside his famous father as he didn’t get to see him as much as he used to since he moved out of the family home.
He previously said: “Working with my dad is something I love to do. “We don’t live together anymore – I don’t get to see him as often as I used to, so I am so excited to be presenting our own chat show on a Sunday morning, ‘Martin & Roman’s Sunday Best!’ on ITV. “We will have a real variety of guests on the sofa with us every Sunday, I can’t wait to get started!”
