OHMYGOSSIP — Bethannie Hare recognised ‘Hollyoaks’ co-star Jeff Rawle from the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise.
The 69-year-old actor plays Silas Blissett in the Channel 4 soap, but the actress – who stars as Cher McQueen on the show – actually recognised him from the money-spinning film franchise, in which he played Amos Diggory.
She said: “Well because of my age and the fact I didn’t always keep up with ‘Hollyoaks’, I wasn’t really aware of Silas and who he was but he is amazing to work with – he has such a presence on screen. And I recognised him from ‘Harry Potter’ so I was excited to meet him!
“I have watched some old footage of the awful things he did and it’s so chilling. It’s so exciting for him to be back and be a part of it.”
Bethannie thinks fans are also “loving” Silas’ role in the show.
She explained to Metro.co.uk: “People are loving having Silas back – I never realised what a cult following he has, but people love this evil character and there’s lots of drama to come.”
Meanwhile, Bethannie is set to spend Christmas at home with her family.
And she’s revealed that they are all incredibly proud of the success she’s currently enjoying, having always supported her acting ambitions.
The soap star shared: “Oh god, they’re all so proud of me, they’ve been amazing.
“But they have always been supportive of me. My mum was my taxi driver to all my auditions, they’ve always been behind me.”
