OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Laing has been chewing gum to hide his bad breath from dance partner Karen Hauer.
The ‘Made In Chelsea’ star has been paired with professional dancer Karen on BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and he is so worried about his breath that he has gone through “about 400 packs of chewing gum so far”.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “I have been through about 400 packs of chewing gum so far just to make sure that my breath doesn’t stink when I am so close to her.”
And Jamie also revealed he and Karen “clicked straight away”, which helps when it comes to embarrassing moments during rehearsals.
Jamie, 31 – who has returned to the show this year after damaging the tendon in his right foot last year- said: “The good thing is that Karen and I clicked straight away at the beginning. That was great because, of course, it is embarrassing having to put your hands in all these places you shouldn’t really be touching unless it’s your partner.
“You are in such close proximity to each other, you have to be comfortable with each other, and I think we’re pretty comfortable with each other now. It was very intimidating to start with. But then on the second day she said, ‘Alright, get on your back and put your legs up in the air’. I did and she just looked at me and said, ‘Don’t fart’. I was like, ‘Alright. So we passed that boundary already!'”
During his initial time on the show, Jamie was paired with Oti Mabuse, who went on to win the glitterball trophy with his replacement Kelvin Fletcher.
And Jamie is happy with his new partner as he worries Oti may have eventually ended up hating him.
He told MailOnline: “It would have been wonderful to be re-paired with Oti but at the same time everything happens for a reason and Karen and I are real buddies.
“Perhaps Oti may have hated me at some point? Who knows! But with Karen we get on so well and so, it kind of works. I am happy that Karen and I are partnered together without a doubt.”
