OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Hollyoaks’ stars will take part in a ‘Come Dine With Me’ special to mark the soap’s 25th anniversary.
The soap celebrates the milestone later this month and in honour of the occasion, Gary Lucy (Luke Morgan), Ruby O’Donnell (Peri Lomax) and Rishi Nair (Sami Maalik), as well as returning stars Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen) and Jeremy Edwards (Kurt Benson) – who will both be back on the show this autumn – will be cooking dinner for each other in a week-long special of the culinary competition.
The episodes will air on E4 during the week of 19 October and will see Jorgie offering a 90s Hip-Hop themed dinner with “cordon bleu beans on toast” for her guests, Gary hosting an American night, Jeremy making his own sushi, and Ruby giving her pals an Irish pub experience.
Show bosses have also teased drama, particularly during Rishi’s evening on the set of ‘Hollyoaks’.
The ‘Come Dine With Me’ shows were filmed earlier this year, before the coronavirus pandemic, and mark the second link up between the two programmes.
In 2015, the soaps 20th anniversary saw cast members including Kieron Richardson and Jessica Fox also take part in the cooking contest.
Meanwhile, mystery surrounds Jeremy’s return to the soap as Kurt was killed off offscreen in a jet ski accident following his departure in 1999.
The recently-released autumn trailer saw Kurt’s friend Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) stunned to see his mate back in the village.
Tony has never got over losing his best pal and needs him more than ever now as he is under the manipulation of his own father Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann) and has been left dishevelled, living in a caravan and is on the brink of divorce from wife Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher).
But this wouldn’t be the first time Kurt has been a figment of Tony’s imagination.
In 2013, Jeremy reprised his role in ‘Hollyoaks Later’ when Kurt appeared as a vision of Tony’s mind, protecting his son Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) from danger.
