Royal ukulele up for auction

OHMYGOSSIP — A ukulele signed by Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla will be auctioned off for charity.
The unusual instrument – which was scribbled on by the royal couple two years ago during the re-opening of the Clutha bar in Glasgow, Scotland – will go under the hammer this week through Catawiki and all proceeds from the sale will go to the Clutha Trust, which helps fund music events and gig for underprivileged children.
Mark Borgman, of Catawiki, told the Glasgow Live: “Items that have been signed or owned by a member of a royal family are currently very popular.
“For example, this month we auctioned the old Mercedes of the former Spanish King Juan Carlos for over £35,000 and an aquarelle by Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands (which she made at the age of 14) for almost £4,000.”
It’s believed the ukulele, which will be on sale until October 19, could fetch more than £3,000 at auction as it’s already sailed past its reserved price.
Charles and Camilla – who got married in 2005 – opened the Clutha bar in 2015 – two years after it was destroyed when a police helicopter crashed through the roof and tragically killed three passengers and seven pub-goers.
