Liar’s second series will air in 2019

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Liar’ is to get a second series – but it won’t air until 2019.
The first season of the thriller TV show, created by brothers Harry and Jack Williams, concluded on Monday (16.10.17), but fans of the ITV programme – which stars Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd – have been told they’ll need to wait until 2019 to find out who killed Andrew Earlham.
Looking forward to the second series, Harry said: “There are certainly a few suspects and we hope to explore that further. Andrew has been missing for several weeks and then we see his dead body in the empty marshlands. The question is: what happened in those missing weeks that led to Andrew’s demise?”
Jack revealed the writing duo have already started working on the second series, but he urged fans to be patient with them.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “We’re delighted there will be a second series and we’ve written a bit of it already. We don’t want to do it cynically – it will be a new set of lies and perceptions.
“We want to give ourselves time, it will probably be the year after next. I hope people feel happy to wait.”
Meanwhile, Jack revealed he hopes TV viewers are satisfied with the conclusion to the first series, which ended with Andrew dying after his crimes were discovered.
He explained: “We hope people feel we told the story we set out to tell – of who was lying about Laura’s rape.
“We’ve raised several more questions with this ending but for those who feel it’s a cruel cliffhanger that asks too many questions, fear not, it’s coming back for another series.”
