Leona Lewis has been announced as Kiehl’s 2017 Charity Partner

OHMYGOSSIP — Leona Lewis has been announced as Kiehl’s 2017 Charity Partner in collaboration with MTV Staying Alive Foundation. The 31-year-old singer was announced as the ambassador for MTV’s organisation, which aims to educate young people about HIV in January this year, and the skincare brand has since joined forces with the charity for a third year, which will see the brunette beauty front campaigns and act as a spokesperson to help raise awareness of the disease.

And the ‘Bleeding Love’ hitmaker is honoured she was selected to join forces with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation and help the cause. Leona – who was crowned champion of ‘The X Factor’ in 2006 – said: “It is a great honour to be working with MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation as an ambassador. I’m eager to raise awareness of the ongoing global HIV crisis. By empowering young people with knowledge about the disease – particularly women and girls who are disproportionately affected – we can help treat it and ultimately prevent it altogether.”

As part of the powerhouse’s latest partnership she has designed a limited edition design with the cosmetics company to help launch the brands new Creamy Eye Treatment with avocado. And for each product sold, Kiehl’s will donate £10 to the foundation.

The Executive Director of the charity organisation, Georgia Arnold, is “absolutely thrilled” to have Leona “join our ranks”, and follow in the footsteps of previous ambassadors including fellow musicians Tinie Tempah and Laura Mvula.

She said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have the extremely passionate and talented Leona Lewis join our ranks this year. Aside from her awesome voice – which we’ll be hearing later in the year – Leona is deeply committed to improving the lives of young people worldwide and especially those most vulnerable which of course includes adolescent girls.

“Leona’s role as ambassador to the MTV Staying Alive Foundation could not come at a more crucial moment in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We’re really looking forward to working with Leona throughout 2017 to raise
awareness of HIV and the devastating impact it continues to have on millions of young people globally.” Whilst Kiehl’s UK and Ireland General Manager, Chris Reid, is “delighted” the American brand has teamed up with MTV Staying Alive Foundation again to “enrich” the community.

He said: “We are delighted to be working with MTV Staying Alive for the third year running. Kiehl’s mission statement calls on us to improve our communities and make for better firms & better citizens; 166 years on, that call to action remains central to how we serve our patrons, motivate our teams and enrich our communities.”

Kiehl’s limited edition iconic Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado in partnership with the MTV Staying Alive Foundation will be launched in June this year and will be available to buy in-store nationwide and online at www.kiehls.co.uk, and additional opportunities to donate to the charity can be made by texting HIV3 to 70660.
