Helena-Reet Ennet: “A-list stars do everythig for never seeing or meeting you”

OHMYGOSSIP — A-list stars do everythig for never seeing or meeting you. You can be a great fan but you are also a penny in the pocket and a tool for getting rich.

One day I sat on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles in a small cozy cafe and read the free paper Metromix. Alexandra Le Tellier had an interesting interview with E!Online´s “Answer Bitch” columnist Leslie Gornstein.

“We´ll meet at Marmont. You´ll make the booking. You´ll order me a steak and a glass of wine. I´ll take a few bites and then I let you finish my steak. I am going to criticize your outfit and if you weigh more than 65 kilos, I´ll tell you straight in the face that you are fat,” Alexandra says to Leslie.

American stars are arrogant. Alexandra who mostly writes stories about the nightlife and parties to Metromix asks the star reporter about the celebrities´partying habits. She is shocked by his answer: “A-list stars don´t go out to party. It´s a hard job and they only do it sometimes as when promoting a new movie or CD. A-list stars often use the backdoor when entering or leaving the restaurant. They get seated in the VIP room or in any case with the back towards you, so you could never guess you had dinner at the same place and the same time as Pitt, Clooney or Barrymore. A-list stars do everything for never seeing or meeting you. They even pay for never seeing you. As a matter of fact, that´s what they do, they hire bodyguards, publicists, assistants and so on.”

Okay, I´m not going to rewrite the entire interview. Anyway, the point is obvious. You as a fan are just a penny in the pocket and a tool for getting rich. All public speeches starting with “Dear fans…” are usually promotion prepared by the publicists.

In fact it´s a pity that great stars have become such robots. Sincerity is just a PR trick in case of the majority of A-list stars. Of course, there may be exceptions. The paradox is kind of a funny sort – half of the life you take the trouble of promoting yourself for getting famous and becoming a celebrity, then next half of your life you pay for getting to live the life of a normal person.
